Behind the Blocks: She BROKE an IVY League RECORD! | Power Workout ft. Chiara Spinazzola

In this vlog, my friend Chiara Spinazzola joined me and Tasi Limtiaco for a power-focused swim workout at Bay Club, and it turned into one of those sessions where the energy on deck instantly raises the level of the entire practice. Whenever you get multiple high-level athletes together in the same environment, there’s a different intensity to the work, especially during sprint and power training where every detail matters.

One of the coolest parts about having Chiara out there was hearing more about her journey through the sport. Chiara competed for Cornell University, where she became an Ivy League champion and broke an Ivy League Championship meet record—an accomplishment that reflects years of consistency, resilience, and high-level performance.

Watching someone who has competed at that level train in person gives you a real appreciation for the technical precision, discipline, and mentality it takes to succeed in sprint swimming. From the quality of underwater work, to power application, to maintaining speed under fatigue, training alongside athletes with different experiences always creates new conversations and perspectives.

Sessions like this are a reminder that surrounding yourself with motivated people can completely change the standard of your training environment.
